Guild of Interim Religious Educators for this four-part course
Thursdays: August 6,13, 20, and 27, beginning at 7:30 PM EDT
To survive and lead creatively and responsively in uncertain times, religious leaders need to understand the tools and behaviors that can help inspire and support out-of-the-box thinking and collaboration. Join leaders of the Guild of Interim Religious Educators for this four-part course. This program is best suited to those who have had some grounding in adaptive learning and change processes and those who have completed the UUA Professional Interim Training course (or similar training).
We’ll delve deeply into the following areas:
- Systems Thinking
- Acceleration of Change Theory
- Innovation Theory & Lean Experimentation
- Appreciative Inquiry Techniques
- Understanding Cultural Icebergs
- Adaptive Change Theory
- Community Change: Building a Community of Communities
When does the class meet?
The course will meet on four Thursdays: August 6,13, 20, and 27, beginning at 7:30 PM EDT and running for 90-120 minutes. Participants will be divided into small learning communities to further explore topics.
Cost: $150 for four sessions. Members of the Guild of Interim Religious Educators receive a 20% discount.
Who can apply?
Individuals who have completed the UUA Professional Interim Training course will receive priority registration for this class. This course is an advanced-level training. Members of LREDA, UUMA, AUUA, UUAMPS who have completed transitional leadership education are also invited to apply.
Deadline for application:
August 1, 2020. Registration will be capped at thirty participants; all classes will occur on the Zoom platform.
Facilitators: The program is facilitated by Deborah Weiner, Lily Rappaport and Amy Huntereece. All the facilitators specialize in supporting and nurturing transitional religious education programs. Guest presenters will include Jan Gartner, Compensation & Staffing Practices Manager, UUA Office of Church Staff Finances, Michele Grove, D.Min., an experienced interim religious educator, and Paula Cole Jones Unitarian Universalist denominational leader, and others who will be announced shortly.
