Part Two: Adaptive Leadership Practicum
The Guild of Interim Religious Educators is proud to announce two linked education and training programs for religious professionals. Together, these classes comprise the GIRE Professional Interim Training Program which is designed to equip religious professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to serve congregations in transition. Registrants may take one class or both (however the first class is a prerequisite for the second).
Part Two details: Adaptive Leadership Practicum – Dates: Tuesdays, October 11, 18, 25, and November 1 and 8, 2022. 1:00 PM EST (2-hour class)
Learning for Part Two includes:
- Adaptive Leadership techniques and practica:
– Acceleration of Change Theory (Friedman)
– Appreciative Inquiry Technique (Cooperider, Srinivasan)
– The View from the Balcony (Bridges)
– Life in the Neutral Zone (Heifetz) - Opportunities to practice transitional leadership skills from Part 1 and Part 2.
- Continued exploration of unintentional bias along with the opportunity to deploy use of creative tools for recentering multiple voices within our congregations.
- Introduction to business applications that impact congregational behavior and change (SCRUM theory, Lean Experimentation)
- Grief and Trauma in Ministry:
– After-pastor congregations
– post-traumatic stress from natural (and unnatural) disasters
– the recovery process - Paving the way forward: Helping congregations get out of the box to dream again

Cost: $200.00 ($160.00 for GIRE Members)
Discount Available if you sign up for both Part 1 and Part 2, there is a reduction of the fee. The cost for both Part 1 and Part 2 together is $380 or $304 if you are a GIRE member.
